EAGLE DIAMONDS 9
MILWAUKEE GRAYS 0

July 18, 2009 at Old World Wisconsin

The Milwaukee Grays played for the first time in nearly a month, and unfortunately it showed.

Playing at Old World Wisconsin is always fun regardless - a good crowd, a nice field (albeit shorter than what the Grays are used to) and a worthy (and much younger) opponent in the Diamonds. Usually these games are low-scoring nail-biters, alas the Grays couldn't hold up their end of the bargain in this one.

The Grays - who played with only eight (having to borrow someone  from the Diamonds to play behind) managed just seven hits, Lefty leading the way with two. Twice in the first three innings the Grays hit into double plays on one-bounce outs and tag-outs on the basepaths.

A nice day for a game, and the Grays promise to make it more interesting next time out.

The statistics for the Grays were as follows:

Spike: 1-4
Smokey: 0-4
Skeeter: 1-4
Rusty: 1-4
Preacher: 1-4
Lefty: 2-4
Old Dog: 1-4
Night Owl: 0-4
