GREENBUSH DEAD CITYS 6
MILWAUKEE GRAYS 3
Aug. 16, 2009 at the Wade House
The Grays were a bit short-handed in this one, with only six "regulars" on hand. The addition of substitute Curveball, who acquitted himself nicely at shortstop, helped. The Dead Citys also supplied a position player (Knuckles) and had one of their players man the behind each inning.
After winning the coin flip, the Grays decided to bat first - and the move paid off as Milwaukee tallied three runs, with Rusty knocking in two with a double then scoring himself on a Dead Pull single.
However, the Grays' offense then sputtered as the Dead Citys' "dead ball" took over. The Grays had but four singles the rest of the way.
The Dead Citys managed to tie the game up by the fifth inning then plated three in the sixth.
As usual, though, it was another good crowd and fun experience playing against Greenbush at the Wade House.
The statistics for the Grays were as follows:
Preacher: 2-5, run
Knuckles: 3-5, run, double
Rusty: 1-5, run, 2 RBI, double
Night Owl: 0-4
Old Dog: 1-4
Dead Pull: 1-4, RBI
Lefty: 0-4
Curveball: 1-4 |
