MILWAUKEE GRAYS 10
ELK GROVE VILLAGE BUCKS 7

CRESTON REGULATORS 9
MILWAUKEE GRAYS 0

Aug. 30, 2009 at Doctors Park

In what might have been a first this season - or at least it was a rare feat - all three teams which showed up at Doctors Park did not have to borrow players from anywhere else.

While it might have been August, the temperatures weren't too hot, which made for a nice day of base ball at the Milwaukee home grounds (and both teams were very complimentary of the field).

In the first game, the Grays got out a couple of months of frustration by taking a 7-1 lead after three innings and leading 10-3 after five.

Everyone on the Grays had at least two hits in the game, with Rusty (5 hits, 4 RBI, run), Spike (4 hits, 3 RBI, 2 runs) and Stickball (4 hits, 2 runs, RBI) - coincidentally the top three hitters in the lineup - leading the way.

The second game did not go as well for the Grays wit the Regulators displaying some fancy defense in shutting Milwaukee out. Spike was twice robbed by Creston's third baseman, including one on a hard line drive which resulted in one of the finest - if not the finest - play witnessed this season.

Except for one rough inning in which the Regulators scored five runs, the Grays played Creston tough.

In the final game, Creston defeated Elk Grove 14-7.

A fine day of base ball all around, culminating in a post-game cookout.

The statistics for the Grays were as follows:

vs. Bucks
Spike: 4-5, 3 RBI, 2 runs
Stickball: 4-5, RBI, 2 runs, double
Rusty: 5-5, 4 RBI, run, double

Big John: 2-5, RBI
Preacher: 3-5, 2 runs
Old Dog: 3-5, run
Night Owl: 2-4, run
Lefty: 3-4, run

Stickball: 1-3
Rusty: 1-3
Sparky: 1-3
Big John: 2-3, double
Preacher: 1-3
