EAGLE DIAMONDS 4
MILWAUKEE GRAYS 0
Sept. 13, 2009 at Doctors Park
It was a beautiful - albeit slightly humid day - for base ball as the season winds down.
It's always a tough match against the Diamonds, and and this was no exception.
The youthful team once again displayed its fine fielding and got a few timely baseknocks
The Grays only had one real scoring chance, in the fifth inning, putting two on with one out. But a fine catch of liner to short and a grab on a low throw to third for a force out helped snuff out any rally.
Milwaukee accorded itself in the field as well, completing a double play on a foul bounder to the catcher. Also, after seeing Eagle load the bases in the seventh with none out, Lefty bared down and got to outs on the fly to Rusty and Skeeter before retiring the next striker, allowing the Grays to leave the inning unscathed.
Full congratulations to the Diamonds for another well-played game. Eagle announced after the match that it completed its season without a defeat.
The statistics for the Grays were as follows:
Spike: 0-3
